What is a Dictatorship?

The type of government called Dictatorship is a very different kind of government from what we have in the US. In the US, we have many government officials and many people to watch over our people. In governments with dictatorships though, the power is concentrated more in the hands of one person or one type of group. The person in charge is known as a dictator, and usually makes all the decisions for the country.

Adolf Hitler was a dictator for Germany in the mid 1900s. Being a dictator, Hitler was able to get his way with things very easily.
